Prime Minister Vladimir Putin meets with Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi

At a meeting with the Italian prime minister, Vladimir Putin announced that German energy companies have expressed interest in joining the South Stream project. He also stressed that joint work on such projects enhances energy security in Europe.

Mr Putin and Mr Miller discussed Gazprom’s preparations for the autumn and winter season and relations with post-Soviet countries and West European partners, as well as the implementation of the South Stream gas pipeline project.
