Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and Communist Party leader Gennady Zyuganov discussed the budget for 2011 and subsequent years. Having mentioned the main parameters of this document, Mr Putin said, “We would really like to stay within these parameters and avoid increasing the budget deficit.” And in connection with this, he expressed his wish that the Communist Party in the State Duma work on the draft budget seriously, as always.

Mr Putin and Mr Zhirinovsky discussed budget planning issues. In connection with this, Mr Putin described the current economic situation as being a stage of recovery from the crisis, noting that many factors generated by the crisis remain, and this must be kept in mind while putting together the budget.

During the meeting, the prime minister said that he had signed two government resolutions on aid for victims and the families of the deceased following the flood in the Krasnodar Territory and the terrorist attack in Grozny. He ordered Alexander Zhukov to ensure that the money reaches the recipients as soon as possible.
