Prime Minister Vladimir Putin meets with Minister of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief Sergei Shoigu

Mr Putin and Mr Shoigu discussed the issues related to obtaining special equipment for the Ministry of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief, in particular equipment for fighting forest fires. Moreover, the minister briefed the prime minister on the state of the national civil defence system.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin discussed the socio-economic development of the Arkhangelsk Region with the region’s Governor Ilya Mikhalchuk

The governor told the prime minister that industrial output in the region had grown 121% year on year. Unemployment fell 25% and wage arrears decreased substantially. Mr Putin and Mr Mikhalchuk also discussed the status of the region’s gasification.

The Prime Minister and the Deputy Minister discussed the prospects of development and improvements that should be made in the pharmaceutical industry. These, according to Mr Manturov, should include a technological upgrade, the production of essential drugs and the production of innovative domestic pharmaceutical drugs, thus leading to the increase of the export potential.
