Prime Minister Vladimir Putin meets with student organisations in Sochi

During the meeting, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said that student stipends will be raised by 9% as of September 1, 2011. The Prime Minister also said that the Olympstroy corporation will hold a competition to select 10 student crews who will work on Olympic construction sites. Mr Putin said the students will also be involved in the construction of facilities for the APEC summit in Vladivostok, the Universiade 2013 in Kazan and the 2018 World Cup.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin meets with Spanish King Juan Carlos I in St Petersburg

At the meeting, the prime minister brought up promising projects in power engineering, transport, and other industries. He expressed interest in cooperation with Spain in the construction of infrastructure facilities for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, and the King of Spain, in his turn, replied that his country was ready to contribute to the World Cup as well as the Sochi Olympics.
