Prime Minister Vladimir Putin meets with Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin
Dmitry Rogozin, in his capacity as deputy prime minister, will be in charge of everything related to the development of the defence industry, which, as Vladimir Putin noted, is in need of modernisation. Mr Rogozin said he would shortly submit proposals aimed at reviving the defence industry.
“The interests of the state consist not only of collecting taxes but also ensuring comfortable working conditions for all taxpayers. Our fiscal instruments should stimulate economic activity, not suppress it,” Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said at the meeting.

The prime minister started the meeting by noting that, in the gas sector, “we have common interests as suppliers.” He added “It is very positive that we are in constant contact and coordinate joint efforts in this sphere.”

“We have decided to establish 5,000 Russian government educational stipends for the best students of vocational schools, lyceums, colleges and technical schools,” the prime minister said. He also suggested that businesses and regions come up with similar programmes and initiatives.
