First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov holds a meeting of the Sub-Commission on Customs, Tariff and Non-Tariff Regulation, and Protective Measures in Foreign Trade

Following the discussion, meeting participants agreed a proposal to adopt a 5% import duty on fuel pumps. Meanwhile the current zero import duty on fuel pumps for industrial assembly of transport motor vehicles and civil aviation will not be changed.

To develop the domestic automotive industry, the sub-commission supported a one-year reduction of the import duty on tires for industrial assembly of cars to 5% (the current import duty is 20%, but no less than 6.9 euros for one imported tire).

The sub-commission members decided it was advisable to abolish the current 10% import duty on copolymers of ethylene with acrylic acid.

The sub-commission members decided to maintain the current 15% import duty on egg powder and the 5% import duty on conversion pig iron and ferrous alloys.

The sub-commission's decisions are to be submitted for the consideration of the Customs Union Commission.

Issues related to adjusting import duties on used truck bodies, superabsorbent polymers for the production of sanitary and hygienic goods, and calcined petroleum coke will be elaborated additionally. Discussion of the import duty on calcined soda was postponed until the fourth quarter of 2012.
