Prime Minister Vladimir Putin noted that AvtoVAZ is now seeing profits totalling one billion roubles. The prime minister also mentioned the joint plans the company has with its investors for the technical upgrading of AvtoVAZ aiming to make it an advanced, economically efficient, sustainable company with good prospects.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and Head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources Vladimir Kirillov discussed the challenges of waste recycling and the efforts to monitor the situation at major construction sites such as the APEC summit venue and the Sochi Olympics. The prime minister emphasised that all the major construction projects must be built in strict observance of environmental standards. He noted that despite a decrease in construction volumes, economic agents have increased the financing for environmentally friendly technologies.

“The abnormally hot summer hit rural regions very hard. First there was an extremely cold and almost snowless winter, and now the drought. Of course, we will not leave agricultural producers to deal with this massive problem on their own. The situation is very serious. <…> We do have a safety net. The reserves we have accumulated over the years allow us to maintain a stable agricultural sector and to fully meet the domestic demand for grain.”
