Prime Minister Vladimir Putin holds a meeting with First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov
Vladimir Putin and Viktor Zubkov discussed the problems caused by the increasing number of regions affected by the drought. The prime minister instructed his deputy to “monitor the situation more closely” and to establish a task group that will monitor the situation week by week. They also pointed to the need for a comprehensive assessment of the damage done by the drought. Putin said that the faster this is done, the sooner the affected farms will receive assistance.
