Prime Minister Vladimir Putin holds working meeting with Aeroflot CEO Vitaly Savelyev

During the meeting, Vladimir Putin and Vitaly Savelyev discussed the state of the aviation sector in Russia as a whole and Aeroflot in particular. Mr Savelyev reported that Aeroflot ended 2009 at a profit and despite the crisis and falling passenger traffic, the company’s capitalisation has doubled. The first five months of 2010 were also profitable.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin meets with head of the Federal Service for Financial Monitoring Yury Chikhanchin

Head of the Federal Service for Financial Monitoring Yury Chikhanchin reported to Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on the efforts that his agency and international regulatory agencies have made to counter money laundering. Mr Chikhanchin said that Russia has one of the five best financial investigation services in the world, and the effectiveness of its anti-laundering system has been recognised worldwide.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin meets with Pyotr Aven, president of Alfa Bank

Mr Putin and Mr Aven discussed the economic situation in banking, in particular the effect of the government’s anti-recession measures. Mr Aven said the key trend in the past five or six months was the general emergence from the crisis, which has improved the quality of the bank’s portfolio. The discussion also touched upon toxic assets and the bank’s relations with foreign partners.
