Prime Minister Vladimir Putin held a videoconference on March 19, 2010 on the preparations for the spring sowing campaign. During the videoconference, representatives of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation reported on the preparations of agricultural companies for the spring sowing campaign. The meeting delegates discussed not only current issues, but also systematic issues in the development of the agricultural industry, including lowering interest rates for “seasonal” loans, state support for the purchase of agricultural chemicals, stabilisation of prices on high-demand fuels during the sowing season and other issues.

“The United States is a key international partner. Despite our differences on certain issues, in the past we have managed to accommodate each other’s positions,” Prime Minister Putin said. In turn, Secretary Clinton expressed her confidence that if both sides cooperate closely, they will be able to overcome existing problems and move toward new opportunities. She said that the United States is “committed to Russia’s entry into the WTO”.
