Prime Minister Vladimir Putin discusses the results of preparations for the new academic year with Education and Science Minister Andrei Fursenko

During the conversation Andrei Fursenko reported back on progress made implementing the prime minister’s directive educational provision in regions affected by the wildfires, among other issues. Special attention was paid to instructions that Vladimir Putin issued following his recent trip to the Far Eastern and Siberian federal districts.

Mr Putin and Mr Merkushkin discussed the socio-economic situation in the republic. Mr Putin drew attention to the fact that Mordovia’s industrial production growth is twice the national average. In addition, the situation with regard to agriculture was also discussed.

Vladimir Putin and Sergei Shoigu discussed the fires in the Volgograd and Saratov Regions. The prime minister said he signed a government executive order to allocate extra money for fire victims in compensation for the property they lost and for housing construction.

According to the governor, the Kaluga Region passed through the crisis “quite well,” and its budget revenue, salary growth and investment appeal continue to increase. The discussion focused on the publicly and locally funded programme to demolish dilapidated and hazardous dwellings.

Mr Vladimir Lisin told Prime Minister Vladimir Putin about his company’s new projects, focusing on the construction of a furnace in Lipetsk. He emphasised that the company’s priorities include workplace safety, being environmentally friendly, labour productivity and, consequently, high social standards.
