Prime Minister Vladimir Putin discusses the provision of medical care for the victims of the terrorist attack in Vladikavkaz with Deputy Minister of Healthcare and Social Development Vladimir Belov

During the meeting Vladimir Belov told Prime Minister Putin about medical treatment given to the victims of the terrorist attack in Vladikavkaz, including those who have been transferred to hospitals in Moscow. The prime minister requested that a video-linkup be established as soon as possible with the multi-profile centre in Beslan, where victims of the attack are also being treated, and that the relatives of any injured people who have been moved to Moscow for treatment be given help finding accommodation. Mr Belov reported that 11 people are now being treated in Moscow hospitals but said that the number of people asking for help could grow.

The government is providing substantial support to the nanotech industry in order to boost output to 900 billion roubles by 2015. Prime Minister Vladimir Putin signed a government resolution today that establishes the guidelines for issuing government guarantees for loans taken out by RusNano until 2015.

Political and economic relations between the two countries dominated the meeting’s agenda. Mr Putin said Russia could see a high potential for the development of trade relations with Japan, notably in the energy sector. Mr Mori, for his part, thanked Mr Putin for the invitation to visit Russia and expressed his condolences over the loss of life in this week’s terror attack in Vladikavkaz.

During the discussion Vladimir Putin highlighted the rapid recovery of the bilateral trade and economic relations in the post-crisis period and expressed confidence that the trade turnover will reach the pre-crisis level by the end of the year.
