During his visit to the Mendeleyev Tyumen Region Research Library, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin was shown its cutting-edge capabilities. In particular, he browsed the library’s archives using a touchpad navigation panel and toured a service centre, a supervised children’s room, and the Tyumen branch of the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library.
While on a working trip to the Tyumen Region, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin chaired a meeting of the Presidium of the Council on Priority National Projects and Demographic Policy to discuss the government’s effort on housing and education, in particular, the plan to reduce mortgage interest rates.

“Today we held the 14th meeting of the Customs Union Commission, where we discussed some of the most complex issues we have been preparing for several weeks, including the procedure for crediting on national accounts a certain proportion of revenues from import duties the member states receive on their respective territories. We also reached a final agreement on the Customs Code and outlined the procedure for drawing up agreements in the emerging single economic area.”

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin meets with Viktor Zimin, Prime Minister of Republic of Khakassia
At the meeting the two leaders discussed the socio-economic situation in the Republic of Khakassia. In addition, Mr Zimin thanked Mr Putin for supporting the restoration of the Sayano-Shushenskaya hydro-electric power plant.
