“Our common goal is to prevent this year’s weather abnormalities from canceling out the positive trends that we have fostered in agriculture in the last few decades. We must preserve the development potential accumulated in the last few years.”
The discussion focused on employment. The FNPR president said unemployment levels had already come close to the pre-crisis level. Trade union participation in healthcare modernisation was also on the agenda. It would be hard to solve those problems without trade unions, the prime minister said.
Prime Minister Vladimir Putin meets with Kursk Region Governor Alexander Mikhailov
Mr Putin noted positive economic trends in the Kursk Region, particularly increasing trade and average income. At the same time, he pointed out the decline in housing construction and decreasing capital investment.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin meets with representatives of the German business community
In his speech Prime Minister Vladimir Putin mapped out the main directions for a Russian-German partnership in the post-crisis world. He mentioned “profound industrial and energy cooperation, including the issues of energy efficiency, closer cooperation in science, education and innovation, and the more active involvement of small and medium-sized business in our joint projects.”
“We have agreed to continue to provide joint business initiatives with the necessary political and organisational support. We are striving to move away from traditional, mainly commercial forms of interaction towards full-scale technological and industrial cooperation, to create strategic alliances between Russian and German companies in several key industries.”
