Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has arrived on a working visit in Kazan, where he will visit the Kazan Aircraft Production Association (KAPO), named after Gorbunov, and chair a meeting on strategic aviation issues

The discussion focussed in particular on the outcome of the meeting on strategic aviation, in which, as the prime minister said, a number of important decisions were made, including one on the construction of a new assembly plant for the An-70 on the grounds of the Kazan Aircraft Production Association.

Innopolis will be built in the Verkhneuslonsky District of Tatarstan, 40 km from Kazan, taking up an area of 1,200 hectares. Dmitry Medvedev expressed confidence that it will be a very beautiful, very powerful and very interesting innovation centre that would generate ideas and produce talent.
