“Of course, we must achieve a sound balance between the challenges of economic development and the requirements of environmental protection. The document we are going to discuss and adopt today is aimed at properly regulating this sphere, with due account of modern requirements.”
A focus of the meeting was extensive upgrades of armaments, in particular, of the T-72 tank, which, as the prime minister put it, “will actually raise its quality to that of the T-90.” However, the prime minister said, “We need to move on to completely new products, to next-generation equipment.” The defence minister reported on the signing of aviation and naval contracts to 2020.
“KamAZ has regained its pre-crisis output numbers and has gone on to achieve a whole new level of quality. The plant is the leader among other Russian automakers, accounting for 40% of sales nationwide.”
