Prime Minister Vladimir Putin’s visit to Stavropol Territory

During his working trip to the Southern Federal District, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin visited the Narzan Valley health resort in Kislovodsk, and was informed on plans for tourism and recreation investment projects in the Stavropol Territory. Mr Putin also held a meeting of the Government’s Commission on Regional Development in Kislovodsk.

Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Zhukov held a video conference on the monitoring of labour market developments in constituent entities of the Russian Federation

On completion of the video conference, Deputy Prime Minister Zhukov told the media that the Government is in control of the labour market situation and will take all necessary measures to avert an upsurge in unemployment this autumn.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin took questions from the press regarding the one year anniversary of Georgia's attack on South Ossetia

"We spoke with the current Georgian leadership on many occasions. I personally urged them to be patient, and win the respect, esteem and trust of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. That is the only way that territorial integrity can be achieved. That is what I said then, and what I believe now to be the case."

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin chaired a meeting on state defence orders in Sochi

"We will certainly continue addressing military personnel’s social problems. First of all, we decided to resolve the problem of permanent housing for military personnel in 2010. It is certainly a challenging task given the limited budget funds, budget deficit and financial and economic problems, but we will fulfil it."

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin’s visit to Turkey

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, on a working visit to the Republic of Turkey, held talks with his counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Intergovernmental talks in Ankara were followed by the signing of joint documents. Than Vladimir Putin held met with Abdullah Gül, the President of the Republic of Turkey.

First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov held a meeting of the Russian Government Commission on the Agricultural-Industrial Complex

Those participating in the meeting considered questions related to carrying out the obligations in the federal and regional budgets on financing measures that are part of the State Programme for the Development of Agriculture and the regulation of the markets for agricultural produce, resources and production for the period 2008-2012.
