During his visit to Russia’s Far East, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin attended the startup ceremony of the East Siberia-Pacific Ocean pipeline, took part in the groundbreaking ceremony for a semi-submersible offshore oil rig in Bolshoi Kamen and gave the signal for the first tanker shipment. He then toured shipyard construction projects underway in Bolshoi Kamen and Fokino that are being run jointly with South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding and Singapore’s Yantai Raffles Shipyard. He also chaired a conference on the development of the region’s shipbuilding industry and the strategy for the Far East and Baikal regions’ social and economic development. Later the prime minister met with Governor Sergei Darkin.
