"Over the past several years, relations between our two countries have been developing very positively. In four years we have, I believe, tripled our trade turnover, which reached two billion dollars last year. Naturally, the volume of trade decreased somewhat due to the global economic downturn. But I am convinced that this is a temporary setback, and that the levels will rebound."
While taking into account the decisions made by the Russian, Belarusian and Kazakh heads of government at the meeting of the Customs Union’s Supreme Council in St. Petersburg on December 11, 2009, representatives from the two commissions also elaborated the plan for the formation of the CES, which will be endorsed at the meeting between the heads of state on the Customs Union in Alma Ata on December 19 of this year.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin arrived in St Petersburg for a working visit to participate in the meeting of the Supreme Body of the Customs Union of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Kazakhstan at the prime minister level, and the meeting of the heads of government of the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC). Prime Minister Putin also participated in the 25th meeting of the EurAsEC Interstate Council at the prime minister level, which resulted in the signing of a series of agreements. The heads of government delivered statements to the media following the meetings of the EurAsEC Interstate Council and the Supreme Body of the Customs Union.
“140,000 people working for vital sectors, namely, social security, education and law enforcement, have been vaccinated to date. Vaccination has already been completed in the Altai Territory and the Voronezh and Tyumen Regions. There are plans to vaccinate nearly 29 million people by late March 2010,” Zubkov said.
