Prime Minister Vladimir Putin's visit to Primorye Territory
During his visit to Russia’s Far East, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin attended the startup ceremony of the East Siberia-Pacific Ocean pipeline, took part in the groundbreaking ceremony for a semi-submersible offshore oil rig in Bolshoi Kamen and gave the signal for the first tanker shipment. He then toured shipyard construction projects underway in Bolshoi Kamen and Fokino that are being run jointly with South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding and Singapore’s Yantai Raffles Shipyard. He also chaired a conference on the development of the region’s shipbuilding industry and the strategy for the Far East and Baikal regions’ social and economic development. Later the prime minister met with Governor Sergei Darkin.

The meeting focused on bank deposits frozen in 1991.
Mr Shuvalov emphasised that “one cannot allow a single-industry town to depend on a single large company, which is why programmes to support small and medium-sized businesses will be launched in Svetlogorye.” According to the first deputy prime minister, timber processing is one of the promising sectors.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin's visit to Krasnodar Territory
During his working visit to Sochi, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin inspected: the buildings and facilities of Sochi Airport, the cluster of tunnels No.3 forming the combined motorway and railway linking Adler with the Alpika-Servis alpine resort, Sochi’s cargo port, which was hit by a storm on the night of December 13-14, and also visited the Olympic Park in the Imereti Lowland. The prime minister also chaired the meeting “On progress made in the Olympic facilities’ construction programme, and the development of Sochi as an alpine resort.”
