Prime Minister Vladimir Putin's visit to St. Petersburg

During his trip to St Petersburg, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin visited low-rise Novaya Izhora development, built for military servicemen.

First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov chaired a meeting of the Government Commission on Foreign Trade Protection Measures in Customs and Tariff Policy

Commission members decided to raise import duties on live pigs and pre-packed tropical oils. Palm oil supplied in bulk for commercial processing will be imported duty-free, while coconut oil duty rate will be set at 5%.

“The situation in this market is not simple. A large portion of alcohol sales are outside government control. The damage inflicted by illegal alcohol is obvious, be it on people’s health or on the budget,” said Mr Zubkov.
