Prime Minister Vladimir Putin's visit to Republic of Tatarstan

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin inspected Tatarstan’s oil and gas chemical companies and launched a new diesel engine production line at the Cummins-Kama Russian-American joint venture, JSC Kamaz in Naberezhnye Chelny, while on a working visit to the Volga Federal District. Vladimir Putin also conducted a meeting on petrochemical and gas chemical industry development in Russia at Nizhnekamskneftekhim and met with the President of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaymiev.

Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Zhukov chaired a videoconference on the implementation of national projects in 2009

Mr Zhukov said in his address: “The implementation of national projects proceeded productively in the first three quarters of 2009.” He said improvements in demographic statistics were evidence of projects’ effectiveness.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin met with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico

“Together we are implementing major projects in energy, including nuclear power generation, in transport and in the defence sector.”

Following bilateral talks, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico delivered their statements to the press

“These talks have once again confirmed the high level of mutual understanding and trust recently achieved by our two countries. These relations serve as a model for many countries in Central and Eastern Europe.”

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin chaired a meeting of the Organising Committee for Russia’s Year of the Teacher in 2010
