First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov chaired a meeting of the Government Commission on Foreign Trade Protection Measures in Customs and Tariff Policy.

To minimise (or abolish) export duties on broadleaved pulpwood, the Commission gave experts two weeks to decide all issues of customs clearance and confirm the stated purpose and quality characteristics of exported pulpwood.

Commission members also decided to raise import duties on live pigs and pre-packed tropical oils. Palm oil supplied in bulk for commercial processing will be imported duty-free, while coconut oil duty rate will be set at 5%.
