“Gaz de France is our long-term, reliable and stable partner, one of the biggest European energy companies. We know about the level of your competence in gas liquefaction, and are interested in cooperating with you in this and in other directions – transportation, electric power, and renewable energy sources.”
At the meeting, Mr Putin and Mr Merkushkin discussed a number of issues, including the housing situation, unemployment, and crop harvesting.
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin attended the signing of the agreement on the establishment of a joint venture between Gazprom and PDVSA to provide oil and gas field services; an Appendix to the Memorandum of Understanding between the Russian Technologies State Corporation represented by Prominvest and PDVSA on the establishment of a joint venture that will address environmental problems and provide oil and gas field services; and several other documents.
“Efforts against poaching must include the whole range of comprehensive measures, namely improving legislation, fostering international cooperation on countering illegal, unregistered and unregulated fishing, and daily work of all the bodies concerned,” the First Deputy Prime Minister said opening the meeting.
