Prime Minister Vladimir Putin addressed the Seliger-2009 Forum

“Representatives from a most diverse range of youth organisations have gathered here today. These are people who have their own opinions about the challenges we face in our country's development and in the development of science and education. These people differ in many ways. But there is something that unites us all. It is something that we have, you and I, inherited, and each one of us is a part of it. And that is, of course, our country.”

The future development of Russia's gas sector, Gazprom's activities in particular, and the company's cooperation with the metalworking industry were discussed at the meeting.

"I did get to hear is testament to the fact that young people are thinking about the country’s problems, they are thinking about how to solve them, and they are putting forward their proposals. Sometimes they are the most simple, but I think, very effective, solutions. This also goes for selecting the projects, attracting investors, and tackling various problems that confront society, from the fight against corruption to medicine."
