Prime Minister Vladimir Putin’s visit to Rostov Region

In course of his working visit to Rostov Region Vladimir Putin chaired a meeting devoted to the provision of water resources and improving efficiency in water use, developing domestic waterways and the construction of river and canal vessels, had a meeting with Rostov Region Governor Vladimir Chub and visited the Kochetovsky waterworks facility.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin’s visit to Arkhangelsk Region

In course of his working trip to Arkhangelsk Region chaired a meeting on the development of the oil and gas sector of the Russian Federation, met with the Governor of the Arkhangelsk Region Ilya Mikhalchuk and visited the production entity Sevmash in the city of Severodvinsk.

First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov has attended a conference on the development of the institution of independent directors

Commenting on the results of the conference to journalists, the First Deputy Prime Minister announced that by June 2009 the officials representing the Government in joint stock companies would be replaced by independent directors.

First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov, who was on a working visit to Tambov, conducted a meeting on the development of agriculture in the Central Federal District.

Commenting on the results of the meeting to journalists, Mr Zubkov also mentioned the issue of meat imports. “Meat covered by quotas must be accepted, but something has to be done about the meat not covered by quotas.
