Prime Minister Vladimir Putin visited the R&D centre of the Kamaz truck manufacturing company during a visit to Naberezhnye Chelny, and held a meeting on additional measures to stabilize and rehabilitate the country’s auto industry.

The Supervisory Board heard reports on the bank’s operation amid tight and unstable financial markets.

First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov held a videoconference on more effective grain interventions in 2008 and 2009

Mr Zubkov said at the videoconference that state purchasing interventions on the grain market were not prompt enough, which produces insufficient stimulation to agribusinesses to expand crop areas and boost grain production.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin’s visit to Lipetsk Region

During his visit to Lipetsk Prime Minister Vladimir Putin visited carton packaging company Lider-Resurs and a building structure plant, chaired a meeting of the Presidium of the Presidential Council on Developing Local Self-Government and met with Lipetsk Region Governor Oleg Korolev.

The Government Commission on Sustained Economic Development will approve the list of enterprises which will get priority assistance, First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov said

Mr Shuvalov identified two groups of enterprises that will be the first to receive support. The first group includes the enterprises that have been operating smoothly, have low debts, but have lost access to credits at the height of the crisis.

First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov met with Joakim Rosengren, President and CEO of DeLaval International AB

The two officials discussed DeLaval’s cooperation with Russian companies producing and processing milk and dairy products.

First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov chaired a board meeting of the Charitable Fund for the Restoration of the New Jerusalem Resurrection Monastery

The meeting participants approved the November-December 2008 report by the Fund’s executive director. The Fund was registered and began operation in accordance with established procedure.

The Government does not intend to cut allocations to the federal targeted programme for the modernisation of the air traffic system, said Deputy Prime Minister Ivanov

Mr Ivanov said the Government had adopted a series of decisions to support and promote development of the air traffic control system in the country, in particular by approving federal targeted programmes.
