"Conversation with Vladimir Putin"

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, the leader of the United Russia party, answered questions directed to his public reception officers or asked by telephone, in the form of text messages and through the website. The question and answer session was broadcast live by Rossiya and Vesti channels and the Mayak and Radio Russia stations.

After the end of the televised question and answer session, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin gave an interview to the press

"There have been many questions, and they are vital for people. Quite often, these are critical questions, but they reflect exactly what worries people. I'm indeed grateful to the Russian people for these questions, for the open conversation we had about real problems that the man on the street encounters."

First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov chaired a meeting of the Government Commission on Protective Measures in Foreign Trade and Customs Tariff Policy

The Commission backed the proposal to assign a special code for electrical trains with a maximum speed of not less than 250 kmph and to establish for them a zero customs import duty on a temporary basis (for 9 months) (the current rate is between 5 and 10%).

Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov announced the need to consider the overall social importance when choosing investment projects in the field of nanotechnology

“The quality of life, social security and health of our compatriots cannot be estimated in terms of money, yet they remain key goals of state policy in the sphere of nanotechnology,” Mr Ivanov said at the opening ceremony of the International Nanotechnology Forum in Moscow.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin’s visit to Yaroslavl Region

During his trip to the Yaroslavl Region, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin visited the Research and Production Association Saturn, where he familiarized himself with the production of engines for Sukhoi SuperJet-100 and chaired a meeting. Also Vladimir Putin visited Avtodizel Joint Stock Company where he held a conference. In conclusion of his visit to the Yaroslavl Region, Prime Minister chaired a meeting of the Government’s Regional Development Commission.
