The meeting focused on the development of the GLONASS navigation satellite system.
Prime Minister Vladimir Putin’s visit to Chechnya
During his visit to the Republic of Chechnya, Vladimir Putin inspected disaster relief progress after the recent earthquake, in Gudermes. He met with the Republic’s authorities and the Gudermes administration, and visited earthquake damaged sites. The Prime Minister then traveled to Grozny, where he visited the Akhmad Kadyrov mosque. Europe's largest mosque, it holds up to 10,000 worshipers.
In the course of the meeting Mr Putin and Mr Kiriyenko discussed the federal target programme Development of the Nuclear Energy Industry in 2007-2010 and up to 2015.
During the conference Mr Zubkov drew attention to the fact that there are no long-term forest lease contracts. In his opinion, that results in ineffective forest use, unauthorised logging and fires.
He said the organising committee would consider the initiative of the Rosnanotech state corporation on establishing an international prize in nanotechnologies.
