Prime Minister Vladimir Putin visited the 10th Russian agro-industrial exhibition “Golden Autumn” at the All-Russia Exhibition Centre

Issues discussed included a further improvement in the quantity and quality of crop production in Russia, state assistance with the introduction of new technologies, and more efficient financing of agriculture.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin conducted a meeting of the Government Commission for Control of Foreign Investments in Russia

"If need be, certain demands can be made to the future foreign owner of a strategic company. These include commitments to guarantee the preservation of state secrets, to process raw materials on Russian territory, to preserve jobs and carry out in full the business plan for production development. I would like to add that many foreign countries have similar laws."

On Thursday evening, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin showed journalists a two month-old Siberian tiger cub he received for his birthday

The cub weighs just 10 kilos. She has not been named yet, but Mashenka and Milashka were among the options discussed. She has an excellent appetite. "She eats two kilos of meat in the morning, and two kilos in the evening," Mr Putin smiled.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin met with the creative team of the NTV Channel and congratulated them on the channel’s 15th anniversary

"The main point is to make sure that adult programmes convey basic values. Therefore, the content is very important, and all the more so because of the imminent switch to the digital format. This is abundantly clear."

First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov addressed a meeting to mark the Day of Agricultural and Processing Industry Workers

Addressing the Government Commission on Agriculture, Mr Zubkov pointed out that “the main task of the agro-industrial sector today is to secure the availability of domestically produced staple food items.”
