Prime Minister Vladimir Putin’s visit to Kazakhstan

During his visit to Kazakhstan Prime Minister Vladimir Putin attended a restricted meeting of CIS heads of Government. Prime Minister also attended a meeting of the Council of the CIS Heads of Government, participated in a photo session with other CIS heads of state and government, met with his Belarusian counterpart, Sergei Sidorsky and with Acting Prime Minister of Moldova Zinaida Greceanii. Vladimir Putin also met with his Ukrainian counterpart Yulia Tymoshenko in Astana and they gave statements to the press following their meeting in Astana.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin’s visit to Kazakhstan

During his visit to Kazakhstan, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin met with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev. Prime Minister also met with his Kazakh counterpart Karim Masimov and as a result of the Russian-Kazakhstan intergovernmental talks, a series of documents were signed. Vladimir Putin and his Kazakh counterpart Karim Masimov made statements for the press on bilateral talks.

First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov chaired a regular meeting of the Government Commission on Foreign Trade Protection Measures in Customs and Tariff Policy

After the discussion, the Commission supported a proposal on extending the duty-free importation of facing material for tropical-tree furniture on a permanent basis.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin chaired a meeting on development and optimisation of the nuclear industry during his visit to the Nikolai Dukhov Research Institute of Automation

"We will look at a range of issues pertaining to the development and optimisation of the country's nuclear sector, including nuclear weapons. We'll discuss measures to ensure the sector's stability during the global financial and economic crisis."
