Prime Minister Vladimir Putin held talks with Mongolian Prime Minister Sanjaagiin Bayar

"Our trade turnover has been growing over the past few years. The leaders of our cooperation, our joint companies, are working well. We have good, promising plans in different spheres, and our main objective now is to create the environment for their implementation. Another objective is to diversify our trade and economic relations."

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and his Mongolian counterpart Sanjaagiin Bayar made statements for the press on the results of their talks

"Our dialogue has been rather intensive. The exchange of opinions we had confirms our mutual striving for further development of bilateral partnership that is based on the principles of trust, equality and mutual advantage."

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin met with Kostroma Region Governor Igor Slyunyayev

During the meeting, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and Kostroma Region Governor Igor Slyunyayev discussed the situation in the region, particularly the agro-industrial complex, exports, and the labour market.

First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov chaired a meeting to prepare a set of measures to develop shore infrastructure for the reception, processing and handling of fish products

On opening the meeting, Mr Zubkov said that in 2009 Russia would produce 3.7 million tonnes of sea food, and that its share of the domestic market would reach 70%.

First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov chaired a meeting on the situation at the AvtoVAZ plant

The need was noted for supporting the efforts to stabilise the situation at the plant, in view of its strategic importance. The fact was stressed that AvtoVAZ employs over 130,000 people.
