The Federal Agency for the Procurement of Armaments, Military and Special Equipment and Logistical Resources (Rosoboronpostavka) is an executive branch agency that acts as a contracting office on behalf of the state. Accordingly, the agency's responsibilities include placing defence orders, signing defence contracts, making necessary payments, auditing government defence contracts and overseeing their implementation. The latter category covers the entire range of armaments, military and special equipment and logistical resources, with the exception of special armaments, equipment and supplies as determined by the heads of the federal executive branch agencies that act as defence contractors on behalf of the state. The agency is also responsible for implementing state policies, providing relevant regulatory and legal oversight and managing relevant state property.
