1996-1998: worked in the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation, Main Control Directorate of the Russian President.

1999: Head of the Secretariat of the First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia.

August 1999: appointed Head of the Secretariat of the Prime Minister of Russia.

2000: Deputy Head of the President's Executive Office.

March 2004: Deputy Chief of the President's Executive Office - an Aide to the Russian President.

May 12, 2008: First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia.
