Dmitry Medvedev reviews SVRK carriage maintenance depot

The SVK Carriage Maintenance Depot was launched on February 21, 2013. Its construction took about two years with an 872-million-rouble investment. This is the second Kuznetsk Basin carriage maintenance enterprise. It is owned by the ZapSib-Transservis Group (Novosibirsk).

The new depot includes:

a carriage assembly shop where carriage frames and bodies are assembled;

a wheel and roller shop;

a drag shoe maintenance shop;

a household shop.

The total depot area covers 613,997 square metres, and railway tracks cover 761.6 running metres. There are four tracks for carriage repair and maintenance and 10 maintenance positions.

The shop floors and working places are equipped with modern air purification systems that can purify up to 90% of pollutant emissions.

The carriage maintenance depot is equipped with sanitary facilities and amenities, showers and cloakrooms.

The enterprise's production capacities can repair 4,000 carriages per year and separately 25,000 mounted wheels per year. The Novokuznetsk-Sortirovochny carriage maintenance depot repairs 3,600 carriages and 14,400 mounted wheels per year.

The launch of the new carriage maintenance depot will provide for the safe and reliable operation of repaired rolling stock. This will reduce technological expenses and expenses for carriage operation and maintenance, create 300 new jobs and provide for additional budget revenue of 80 million roubles per year, including about 28 million roubles to the regional budget.

The depot's advantageous location – its proximity to main shipment and detraining hubs – will reduce empty mileage.

The depot already services EVRAZ ZSMK rolling stock. It will reach its project capacity in November 2013.
