Dmitry Medvedev visits the Baltiysky assisted living residence during his working visit to St. Petersburg

The Baltiysky assisted living residence for single individuals was built under a city programme and opened in October 2006. The building provides accommodation to 55 people and covers an area of over 2,500 square metres.

The building was designed to provide all of the necessary facilities for people with mobility restrictions.

All flats have bathrooms, electric stoves, fire alarms and extinguishers, and aerial and phone cables. Each flat from the first to the fifth floor has a balcony.

The assisted living residence also provides services to the elderly residents of the Kirovsky District in St Petersburg. Two offices of the social services centre are located in the building – an office for building residents and a social and rehabilitation office for the elderly. The former includes a 24-hour operator's room, a nurse's room, a room for social workers, an exercise therapy room, a library, a winter garden, an assembly hall with a guest room, a cafeteria, a laundry, and a workshop. The social and rehabilitation centre for the elderly includes a doctor's office, a medical treatment room, an occupational therapy room, a gym, and a salt room.

Over 400 residents of the Kirovsky District receive treatment at the centre each year.
