The issue was discussed at the Government meeting of 7 December 2012. The following decisions were taken:

1. After having been discussed, the draft State Programme for "Forestry Development" for the period 2013-2020 was approved.

2. The Ministry of Natural Resources in cooperation with the Russian Finance Ministry is to specify an addendum to the state programme with information on additional needs for funding and to earmark financing from the federal budget in the amount of 53 billion roubles including funding on procurement of specialised firefighting equipment and vehicles, the construction of a forest seeding center, forest management and state cadastre records of forestry land, and also to submit proposals on improving the reimbursement process to the executive authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation for the extra costs related to wildfire containment.
