Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev takes part in a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government Council in Yalta

The main integration topics of the meeting included the accelerated ratification of the Treaty on the CIS Free Trade Zone as of Oct. 18, 2011.

The Heads of Government will review a draft strategy for cooperation between CIS countries with regard to building and expanding the information society and an action plan to implement it through 2015.

They will discuss a set of measures for 2012-2014, which have been designed to implement the Intergovernmental Programme of Innovation Cooperation Between CIS Countries to 2020.

The Heads of Government will discuss the establishment of the Mir 24 TV channel based on the Mir Intergovernmental Television and Radio Company. In addition to the existing Mir and Mir +3 TV channels, the special 24/7 news channel reaching a wide audience will begin to operate throughout the CIS.

Competition on CIS retail food markets, the establishment of permanent exhibitions in CIS counties at the All-Russian Exhibition Centre in Moscow, and the activities of the CIS Regional Advisory Group within the Financial Stability Board (a multilateral institution created by the G20 countries during the London Summit in April 2009) will also be considered by the participants.

Three research and educational institutions – the CIS International Innovative Nanotechnology Centre, the Russian Government's Finance Academy, and the National University of the State Tax Service of Ukraine – will be conferred the status of base organisations in their relevant areas of knowledge. This will help enforce common approaches in training and research.

The agenda also includes financial issues, such as the approval of funding in 2013 for the Action Plan for the Further Development of Health and Social Care and Improving the Quality of Life for War Veterans, Participants of Local Conflicts and Their Families, and the creation and development of the joint CIS air defence system.

Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will take part in the Yalta Business Meetings Third International Investment Business Forum and hold a number of bilateral meetings with the Heads of Government.
