At the meeting, Mr Medvedev and Ms Matviyenko discussed the schedule of work on draft laws.

The Federation Council has started consultations on ratifying documents on Russia's WTO accession, Ms Matviyenko reported. She also expressed her gratitude to the government for submitting for ratification the Council of Europe Convention on the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse of October 25, 2007, and the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the Sale of Children, Child Prostitution and Child Pornography, adopted by UN General Assembly on May 25, 2000.
