Officials at the meeting discussed cooperation in trade, the economy and innovation and intensifying ties in investment, information technology, culture and tourism. Special attention was given to expanding interaction in science, technology and education. The two delegations agreed on new areas of bilateral cooperation, especially in modernisation. Support was confirmed for business-oriented projects, especially the establishment and management of special economic zones in Russia, agro-industrial clusters and healthcare.
Following the meeting, the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and the Singaporean Ministry of Industry and Trade signed a memorandum of cooperation in economic modernisation. In addition, a joint statement on the second meeting of the Russia-Singapore High Level Intergovernmental Commission was signed. The commission's next meeting is scheduled to take place in Singapore in 2012.
