Born in 1954 in Landenpokhye, Karelia ASSR.

Mr Korniyenko  has a PhD in Jurisprudence.

Since 1981: employed at  state security  agencies.

2001-2002: Deputy Director of the Russian State Courier Service.

2002-2012: Head of the Russian State Courier Service.

Since June 26, 2012 - Head of the Federal Penitentiary Service.

Holds state awards.
