Born April 10, 1949 in the Ivano-Frankovsk Region, Ukraine.
Education
1971: Graduated from the Ivano-Frankovsk Oil and Gas Research Institute with a degree in mining engineering for the development of oil and gas deposits.
1990: Completed a course at the Institute of Professional Skills Improvement at the Academy of National Economy under the USSR Council of Ministers.
Experience
1970-1980: Worked in the Soviet gas industry.
1980-1984: Head of operations and production, chief geologist at Mostransgaz.
1984-1986: Chief engineer, deputy head of department at the USSR Ministry of the Gas Industry.
1986: Appointed to the USSR Council of Ministers to serve as assistant, senior expert and chief expert.
1991: Chief expert at the USSR Council of Ministers.
1992-1998: Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the Russian Prime Minister.
1998-2000: First Deputy Head of the Administrative Department at Gazprom.
2000-2004: Deputy Chief of the Government Staff.
2004-2005: Aide to the Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office, Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the Chief of Staff.
