1981-1992: worked in various government statistical agencies.
1992-1998: held managerial positions at the Russian Government Economic Situation Centre.
1998-1999: Head of the Department of Statistics of Foreign Countries and International Cooperation at the Federal Service for State Statistics.
1999-2000: First Deputy General Director of the Russian Statistics Agency.
2000-2004: First Deputy Chairman of the State Statistics Service of the Russian Federation.
2004-2009: Deputy Head of the Federal Service for State Statistics.
On December 3, 2009 appointed Head of the Federal Service for State Statistics.
Married, with a son and two daughters.
