Graduated from Moscow Higher School of the Border Service (1985) and the Academy of the Security Ministry (1992).

From 1985: served on different positions in the security service of Russia.

May-September 2004: Director of the Administrative Department of the Government of the Russian Federation.

September 17, 2004: appointed Deputy Chief of the Government Staff.

Responsible for the defence industry, law enforcement, and security services.

Responsibilities of members of the Government Executive Office of the Russian Federation in coordinating and supervising the activities of the structural divisions.
