The Commission is a permanent body set up to coordinate the efforts of bodies of executive authority and ensure their cooperation with the business community in laying down and implementing state policy on transport and communications, including in scientific, technological and innovatory activities. 

The Commission has the following responsibilities:

• to coordinate the efforts of executive bodies in drawing up and implementing state policy on transport and communications;

• to make their services more competitive;

• to improve the structure of exports;

• to make transport and communication services more affordable;

• to fulfil other tasks in transport and communications.
