Prime Minister Vladimir Putin visits victims of Moscow Metro terrorist attacks at Botkin Municipal Hospital

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin cut short his visit to Krasnoyarsk today to return to the Russian capital. His first visit after arriving at a Moscow airport was the Botkin Municipal Hospital. Accompanied by Minister of Healthcare and Social Development Tatyana Golikova and the hospital's chief doctor Vladimir Yakovlev, Prime Minister Putin visited several wards to speak with those injured in the terrorist attacks in the Moscow Metro.

The Prime Minister asked patients how they were feeling and wished them a speedy recovery.

In a conversation with doctors, Mr Putin asked whether they have enough drugs and equipment to care for the patients. The chief doctor assured the prime minister that all the patients were receiving proper care and that the hospital was not short of drugs or anything else.

At the end of his visit, Mr Putin stated that the families of those killed in the terrorist attacks would receive one million roubles in compensation. Those injured in the attacks would receive 400,000 roubles or 200,000 roubles, depending on the severity of their injuries.
