First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov chairs a meeting of the subcommittee on economic integration, part of the Government Commission on Economic Development and Integration

Officials at the meeting discussed several agreements currently being prepared that would create a common economic space between Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia, including agreements that would coordinate macroeconomic policy, establish uniform rules for granting industrial subsidies and government support for agriculture, and regulate trade in services.

Officials at the meeting also approved the main principles for drafting Russia's own plans of action for developing relations with major economic partners. Finally, they endorsed the members of the interdepartmental working group charged with developing economic cooperation with the member states of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference.
