Prime Minister Vladimir Putin speaks with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh by telephone

The two leaders discussed the preparations for Prime Minister Putin's visit to India in March. In particular, they focused on the forthcoming meeting of the Russia-India Inter-Governmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Sobyanin.

Mr Putin and Mr Singh expressed their satisfaction with the development of the Russian-Indian relations in trade and the economy, which have shown strong positive dynamics even during the global recession. In particular, they noted that bilateral trade grew by 8% in 2009.
