Press release on a meeting of the Government Military-Industrial Commission

The Government Military-Industrial Commission met on November 11, 2009. 

Vladislav Putilin, first deputy chairman of the Commission, chaired the meeting, which reviewed the shipbuilding industry's naval weapons manufacturing capability.

Speakers and reporters reviewed conditions at shipbuilding plants which were selected to fulfill state defence orders and other work within the military technical cooperation programme. It was noted, in particular, that these plants have kept and updated naval shipbuilding and maintenance technology ensuring the development, repair and upgrade of warships of all classes. 

Following the discussion, the Military-Industrial Commission outlined measures to consolidate the efforts of the federal executive bodies concerned and the United Shipbuilding Corporation to upgrade the production technology and test facilities  necessary for the development of advanced naval armaments, to strengthen the manpower potential and to improve normative groundwork
