First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov attended a joint meeting of the Russian-Canadian Business Council and the Intergovernmental Russian-Canadian Economic Commission

“We have vast opportunities to expand mutual bilateral cooperation both in established and new branches of economy. Along with the mining industry, construction and agriculture, Russian and Canadian enterprises gradually develop cooperation in car and aircraft industries, as well as transport and high-tech production, including nanotechnologies,” Mr Zubkov noted.

"We appreciate Canadian companies interest in cooperation in construction projects for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi," Mr Zubkov said. 

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed confidence that the meeting would facilitate partnership both in this and other spheres. "This is especially important amid the global economic downturn," Mr Zubkov emphasised.

"We have vast opportunities to expand mutual bilateral cooperation both in established and new branches of economy. Along with the mining industry, construction and agriculture, Russian and Canadian enterprises gradually develop cooperation in car and aircraft industries, as well as transport and high-tech production, including nanotechnologies," Mr Zubkov noted. "Russia and Canada's partnership in energy industry is not just promising but crucial, considering the special role the two countries have in ensuring global security," Mr Zubkov added.
